Sharmaine is a thorough dental hygienist. Educating patients about their oral health and the many options available in dental treatment are some of her favourite parts of the job.
Staying current with continuing education is a high priority for her because of the increasing awareness in dentistry regarding dental health and how it affects overall health. The many advances in research and technology are also fascinating.
She is very detail oriented which carries over to making sure that patient care is of the highest standards. She grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan and began her education in the Faculty of Science at the University of Manitoba.
She graduated from Dental Hygiene in 1996 from the University of Manitoba. In her spare time she enjoys reading, hiking, skiing and spending time with her family friends and teenage kids.
She maintains membership in the Canadian Dental Hygiene Association and the British Columbia Dental Hygiene Association.She is also an active member of the Okanagan Periodontal Study Club, mentored by Dr. Steven Faigan, a local periodontist.
Elaine is a caring and enthusiastic dental hygienist who strives to make every dental visit a positive one. She enjoys meeting diverse groups of people and teaching each patient how they can achieve their optimal health.
Elaine moved to BC from England in 2006. She has a vast array of knowledge and experience relating to dentistry and overall health. She has worked as a dental hygienist, a dental therapist and has unique skills from working in a surgical maxillofacial unit at a hospital in the UK.
She maintains membership in the Canadian Dental Hygiene Association and the College of Dental Hygienists of British Columbia and is an active member of the Okanagan Periodontal Study Club mentored by Dr. Stephen Faigan, a local periodontist.
In her free time she enjoys skiing, golfing, bike riding and oil painting.
Angelina is a warm and genuine person who cares about her patients and their oral health.
She is great at listening to the patients concerns, performing thorough hygiene treatment and explaining things in a way patients can understand.
She moved from Kitimat to our area in 2010 and is settling in nicely. She has joined the Okanagan Periodontal Study Club and looks forward to learning new advances in the treatment of gum disease and early detection of oral cancer.
She enjoys her career as a dental hygienist because she likes to see changes from disease to health. She likes helping patients maintain their oral health with her skills and knowledge. She has fun working with her team to give our patients care. She has been with this office since 2010 and she is happy to be here.
Anita has been a dental hygienist in our office since 2012. She has many years of experience as a dental assistant and a dental hygienist. She is a true professional with excellent clinical skills and excellent communication skills.
Her previous experience and love to teach gives her a wealth of knowledge to answer any dental questions you may ask. She has a strong interest in continuing education and new techniques and procedures.
She is comfortable working with children, adults and seniors and understands the unique needs of each individual. She enjoys seeing the improvements in the dental health of her patients and making a difference in their lives. In her spare time she enjoys running, yoga and spending time with family and friends.

Lacey's career in dentistry began in 2006, when she started volunteering at her general dentist's office in Windsor, Ontario.
She soon became employed as a sterilization technician and became interested in dental hygiene. After job shadowing fellow dental hygienists, she knew this was the career for her. Lacey was accepted into St. Clair College's dental hygiene program in 2007.
Two years later in 2009, Lacey graduated at the top of her class and was awarded the Hu Friedy Golden Scaler award. Soon after graduation, Lacey headed to the Okanagan Valley. Lacey is thorough in her work and easy to talk to.
She loves seeing people smile, and helping them achieve and maintain their oral and overall health. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and exploring beautiful BC with her dog, Roxi.
Laurie started her dental career in 1980. With over 30 years of experience her dedication is evident by her consistent attention to patients needs and comfort. She has advanced her education and is a certified prosthodontic assistant. This enables her to provide care in a variety of dental treatments such as dentures, implants, crowns and bridges.
Laurie has worked with Dr. Powell since 2001. She is proud to be part of the team. She enjoys making sure every patient receives great service during their visit.
In her spare time Laurie enjoys knitting, swimming, outdoor activities and quality time with her family.
Tana is a fantastic dental assistant and Gary is happy to have her working by his side.

She enjoys all aspects of dentistry. In her spare time she enjoys snowboarding, music and spending time with her dog, friends and family.
Dixie was born and raised in beautiful Kelowna, BC. She enjoyed raising her three children here as well. They are all grown and living their lives to the fullest.
She took her CDA training at OUC 30 years ago. She has worked for a periodontist and in a large group practice gaining a vast amount of knowledge from those she worked with.
For the last few years she has been working with the dental hygienists as a hygiene assistant. Her heart is working in this area after working with a periodontist in the treatment of gum disease and patient education.
She was president of the Kelowna Dental Assistants Society for many years. She has worked at OUC as an examiner for clinical exams in the Dental Assisting department. Her positive attitude and genuine care for patients makes us fortunate to have her in the practice since 2008. In her spare time, along with her husband, she enjoys skiing, boating, motorcycle riding and many other sports.
Kelli-Mai is in the right profession and has a beautiful smile to prove it. As a valuable member of our team, she has been busy assisting Dr. Huber, Dr. Kalhs and the dental hygienists.
She has been attending numerous continuing education courses to further her skills in the areas of surgery and assisting with IV sedation.
Kelli-Mai received a bursary from Okanagan University College in recognition of her achievement in the dental assisting program.
She enjoys meeting new people and being busy! Her kindness and skills are a benefit to patients and the whole team.
Kim graduated from dental assisting in 1992 from Okanagan College.
She loves working with people and loves the surgery aspect of dentistry. If she can make a person’s experience a great one, and they understand from start to finish, everyone is happy and she has done her job.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and paddle boarding.
Terry loves being part of the Carrington Dental team.
She has been a certified dental assistant for 35 years. Treatment planning is her passion and helping patients understand their options.
She grew up in Peachland and attended Okanagan College for her training. Her family and fitness training are her other passions. She always looks forward to seeing our patients wonderful smiles.
Shauna is a dental assistant who is also knowledgeable on the financial insurance side of the office. She graduated from Camosun College in Victoria in 2010 and received the Sunstar award for outstanding achievement in preventive dental assisting.
She enjoys the diversity of her job as no two days are ever the same. She enjoys coming to work in a happy, fun and professional office.
In her spare time she enjoys walking her husky dog, Mia, playing on her volleyball and softball teams, camping and snowshoeing.
Mel has experience from children's dentistry to implants, root canals and surgery.
She is a good communicator and patient-centred care is her priority.

I really enjoy working at Carrington Dental Centre. We have a great staff that get along great. We love to laugh and do our best both at work and away from work.
Tami loves that the Carrington office is bright and cheerful and knows our staff are making a difference in the lives of those we see. She always wants to help patients who are nervous or scared. Tami finds it very rewarding when a patient says they had an experience at the dental office. She encourages all her patients to maintain their dental health in the years ahead.
Patient care is Tami's number one priority and that is the main reason she love working here. She really enjoys seeing patients and photos of their grandchildren or dogs. She is so fortunate to have a boss that not only allows her to do this, but encourages these relationships. She is very proud to call Carrington Dental her work “home”.
Colleen is a BC girl who grew up in the Lower Mainland and relocated to Westbank in 2000. Her career in the dental industry started right after she graduated high school.
Colleen has enjoyed working as a dental receptionist as well as a chairside dental assistant over the years. She loves to learn and grow as a person and is always up for new challenges. Colleen joined Dr. Powell's office in 2007 and was a huge help through the transition of starting up our new location.
Colleen is very happy to be a part of Dr. Powell's team and looks forward to providing care and excellent service to all patients.
Kara is a lovable and caring person who will take care of booking your appointments and making the financial side as convenient as possible.
You can usually see her smiling face and hear her contagious laugh at the front desk or speak to her when she answers the phone. Kara has been in dental reception since 2001. She loves coming to work every day in such a positive environment, with beautiful surroundings and wonderful coworkers and patients
She started in Edmonton and moved to the Okanagan in 2008 for the lifestyle and beauty of the area. She is very organized and a good problem solver. If you have any questions, she will be happy to answer them or find someone who knows the answer.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her two girls at home or out and about our beautiful community.
